Hi. I am glad you are here. I grew up in Clarks, Nebraska, where my parents still live. I am the oldest of three children. Nick, my husband, and I have two boys. We moved to Waverly almost a decade ago. Although Nick and I are transplants, this is the community our boys will call their hometown.
I have been on the Waverly City Council since 2020 and served as president for two years. While on the city council, I worked hard to cultivate a positive public image, focusing on collaboration and getting the best minds in the game. Some examples of projects I have promoted, led, and/or committed to supporting:
- I updated our website to be more user-friendly and launched a mobile app to be integrated with the site for our citizens.
- I was also instrumental in converting our previous Community Development Association (CDA) to a Community Redevelopment Authority (CRA) to increase transparency when reviewing TIF projects.
- I actively supported the investment of Waverly’s cash reserves into interest-earning money market accounts, CDs, and other investment accounts to maximize monies dedicated to future large capital and maintenance projects.
I served as the president of the Greater Waverly Area Foundation Fund for four years. The Greater Waverly Area Foundation Fund (GWAFF) is comprised of dedicated people facilitating charitable giving for the viability of our community, today and tomorrow. GWAFF was the fundraising arm for community improvement projects that could not be fully funded through taxes and developers’ fees. The most notable project was fundraising for the $6.4M aquatic center for our community. The Waverly Aquatic Center opened on July 4, 2023.
I am currently a Senior Marketing Manager at Verizon Business Group, focusing on the public sector and global enterprise segments, where I have been employed for 19 years. I graduated with my Master of Business Administration (MBA) in March of 2025.
I’m deeply passionate about serving the community and encouraging active civic engagement. I believe in showing up, getting involved, and supporting initiatives that strengthen our community and make a lasting impact. I am a former Built by Girls advisor, a current District 145 Foundation for Education scholarship reviewer, a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, and vice chair of the Waverly Economic Development Corporation.
